EPISODE VII
A Good Man

At the American Cemetery in Normandy, high above Omaha Beach, lie the graves of 9,387 soldiers who gave their lives in battle. On each tombstone is their name, the state where they lived, the unit they served with and the day they died. There isn’t a birth year, so we don’t know how old they were. We don’t know what they were like prior to landing on Omaha Beach. We don’t know if they were successful businessmen, recovering alcoholics, married or divorced. We only know that, in that cemetery, lie over 9,000 war heroes. Every single one of them.

Deep within the DNA of every man is the desire to finish well. It doesn’t matter how we started. It only matters how we finish.

Even if the legacy of our family name isn’t the best around, we have it within ourselves to finish strong. When people stand over our grave at the end of our life, what will they be saying about us.

If we don’t like what we think we’ll hear, then it’s time to shift that legacy. If we’re still alive, there’s still time to do something. It’s time to live a life worth repeating.
